Diane is an award-winning writer and editor with 25 years of experience in the New York publishing world. She has worked on staff as an editor at Random House, Harlequin Books, Children’s Television Workshop, and Family Life. She was also Creative Director for an international series of interactive DVDs for Disney Publishing Worldwide.
She has written over 200 articles for national publications, and is the author or coauthor of five books, including the groundbreaking, critically acclaimed Divorced Dads: Shattering the Myths (Tarcher/Putnam), which was the subject of a 20/20 report by John Stossel. Other books include Strong Force: The Story of Physicist Shirley Ann Jackson and People Person: The Story of Sociologist Marta Tienda (Joseph Henry Press/Scholastic), Your Two-Year-Old: The Trusted Resource to Help Your Child Advance, Achieve, Succeed (St. Martin’s Press) and the bestselling Decorative Paint and Faux Finishes (Sunset Books).
A specialist in working with first-time writers, Diane has helped launch the careers of many successful authors, including Cody McFadyen, author of four international bestsellers: Shadowman, The Face of Death, The Dark Side, and Abandoned. She was also instrumental in developing the popular Gracious Path series of inspirational books.
Her proposal writing skills helped first-time author Lucinda Schroeder sell her book A Hunt for Justice: The True Story of a Woman Undercover Wildlife Agent, which was picked up as a segment for the Discovery Channel’s Investigative Reports series and is now in its 2nd printing. Diane also helped Nobel Prize-winner Dr. Henry David Abraham shape his proposal, which led to his book, What's a Parent to Do? Straight Talk on Drugs and Alcohol (New Horizon Press), now in its second printing.
An expert in helping fiction authors shape their stories, and nonfiction authors develop and hone their “hook,” Diane offers a wide variety of services, including developmental editing, line editing, and critiquing manuscripts; and developing, writing, and editing book proposals.
